Difficulty
Difficulty is a key feature in Flood Escape 2 and rates how difficult a map is. There are currently 6 difficulties: Easy, Normal, Hard, Insane, Crazy, and Crazy+
Note: Difficulty refers to how hard completing a map independently is, not how hard it is in multiplayer.
Easy
Easy is the 1st and easiest difficulty in the game. Easy maps are a great way to introduce the simple concept of buttons and parkour to a brand-new player. They are not very difficult and can teach the newer players basic skills. Almost everyone can easily complete these maps.
There are currently 9 playable Easy maps: Lost Woods, Axiom, Castle Tides, Poisonous Valley, Marred Dreams, Buried Oasis, Forsaken Era, Retro Coast, and Zemblanity.
There are also 19 playable Community Maps: Bathroom Leak, Shimmering Delta, Archipelago, Closing Hours, Dormant Vale, Crawling Caverns, Cloudy Skylands, Mystic Fortress, Icy Spires, Wintertide Haven, Sakura Falls, Outlier of a Coppice Carcass, Pascha Equinox, Sandstorm Dunes, Moonlight Forest, Factory Center, Footlight Lane, Golden Passage, and Gallery of Wonders.
Eerie Peaks and Polar Industry are only playable annually during the Halloween and Christmas seasons, therefore raising the easy map count to 11.
The Easy intensity value is 1 to 1.99.
Normal
Normal is the 2nd difficulty and 2nd easiest difficulty in the game. Normal maps are noticeably harder than Easy maps and take the difficulty up a notch, but they are not too extreme. These maps start to show players less accessible buttons and are great to practice once a player has learned the basics of parkour.
There are 11 currently playable Normal Maps consisting of: Infiltration, Cave System, Flood Island, Oriental Grove, Sky Sanctuary, Decrepit Seas, Forgotten Tombs, Mysterium, Construction Thrill, Fall Equinox, and Northern Mill.
There are also 17 playable Community Maps: Nimble Valley, Mayan Remnants, Sulphureous Sea, Blooming Lagoon, Cursed Jungle, Abandoned Cemetery, Snowswept Gully, Wild Skatepark, Unyielding Dusk, Abyssal Tempest, Year of the Flood, Deserted Frontier, Hovering Enclaves, Ducky Hills, Heights Island, Colouring Book, and Gallery of Illusions.
Northern Workshop is only playable annually during the Christmas season, therefore raising the normal map count to 12.
The Normal intensity value is 2 to 2.99.
Hard
Hard is the 3rd difficulty in the main game. Maps in this difficulty are a step up from the easier maps. These can be beaten by players who have gotten the hang of things and are ready to dive into some more difficult maps. These maps will require players to be quick on their feet yet cautious and focused, as most hard maps have lava. In the majority of hard maps, players will have to make risky jumps. The Hard maps start to feature wall jumps, ziplining, sliding and Air Bubbles as Normal and Easy maps are more focused around simple button-pressing and platforming.
There are currently 12 Hard difficulty maps being: Lava Tower, Crystal Caverns, Snowy Peaks, Dark Sci-Forest, Graveyard Cliffside, Wild Savannah, Sedimentary Temple, Sunken Citadel, Relic Valley, Poisonous Forest, Fallen (Classic), and Toxic Woods.
There are also 21 playable Community Maps: Jungle Exploration, Sapphire Falls, Steampunk Clockworks, Club Quarry, Oil Outpost, Onama Views, Windswept Valley, Arctic Grotto, Autumn Fields, Thieve's Refuge, Orbital Overlook, Toybox Trouble, Spring Valley, Cascade Rift, Strawberry Springs, Sugary Springs, Hanami Highlands, Luminous Reservoir, Boreal Isle, Surreal Scene, and Interstice Mindscape.
Autumn Hideaway was previously available, but was removed in January 2019.
Forlorn Christmas is only playable annually during the Christmas season, therefore raising the hard map count to 13, if Autumn Hideaway was still in-game the map count would be 14.
The Hard intensity value is 3 to 3.99.
Insane
Insane is the 4th difficulty in the main game. This difficulty is a massive step from the previous difficulty, striking fear into many. These maps are for the experienced, as they require speed, reaction time, and overall knowledge of what to do. It is very hard to complete an Insane map on the first attempt as Insane maps are complicated and can easily confuse newer players. Practice helps a lot, but teamwork is also highly helpful. The easier Insane maps are better for new players as they rely on teamwork. However, many harder Insane maps focus on difficult jumps and fast lava, leaving minimal room for error.
There are 10 Insane maps currently in the game: Abandoned Facility, Familiar Ruins, Lost Desert, Gloomy Manor, Sinking Ship, Dark Sci-Facility, Beneath The Ruins, Magmatic Mines, Fallen, and Satomi Springs.
There are also 20 playable Community Maps: Summit, Amphibious Billow, Skywork Falls, Sinister Labyrinth, Underworld Grove, Mossy Shrine, Twilight Athenaeum, Runic Maze, Irradiating Alpines, Steam Palaces, Hallowed Vestige, Kozui Peak, Lilac Valley, Wasteland Junction, Frozen Settlement, Starstruck Palace, Sanguineous Luna, and The Judgement of Hephaestus, Eerie Spires, and Envisioned Order.
The Insane difficulty is currently the maximum difficulty for Normal Mode.
The Insane intensity value is 4 to 4.99.
Crazy
Crazy is the 5th and 2nd hardest difficulty in the main game. It can only be played in Pro Mode or Private Servers when the intensity is between 5 and 5.99. These maps require a lot of parkour mastery, focus, skill, knowledge of the map, and possibly luck. There are more far jumps than usual in this difficulty. Crazy maps usually have little to no room for error and contain a wider variety of obstacles, and one little mistake could swiftly ramp up the difficulty.
Currently, there are 9 Crazy maps in the main game: Blue Moon, Poisonous Chasm, Sandswept Ruins, Ignis Peaks, Active Volcanic Mines, Decaying Silo, and Snowy Stronghold, Cyberpunk District, and Calamity Kingdom.
There are also 21 playable Community Maps: Mars Stations, Undersea Facility, Virulent Junkyard, Chaoz Japan, Submerging Coastland, Spider Dungeon, Desolate Domain, Nightmare Castle, Deserted District, End of the Line, Lighthouse, Casino of Envy, Mirage Saloon, Underworld Castle, Abyssal Remnants, Duskland Enigma, Concrete Jungle, Eye of the Storm, Forest Facility, Spectral Hideaway, and Smoldering Fractured Realm.
The Crazy intensity value is 5 to 5.99.
Crazy+
Crazy+ is the final and hardest difficulty in the main game and can only be played in Pro Mode or Private Servers when the intensity is at 6. These maps require exceptional speed, skill, timing, and memory of the path and platforms—Parkour mastery, focus, skill, and knowledge of the map are required. There are many far jumps in this category. Crazy+ maps usually have little to no room for error and contain a wider variety of obstacles, with one mistake leading to your death. Many advanced players struggle with this difficulty.
There is currently only 1 Crazy+ map in the main game: Rustic Jungle.
There are also 11 playable Community Maps: Desert Ruins, Abandoned Junkyard, Sub-Zerosphere, Abandoned Harbour, Wildwood Waterways, Central Mass Array, Lost City of Gold, Whirlwind Wasteland, Minds Of Misery, and Distorted Ignis Dimension, and Venomous Vistas.
The Crazy+ intensity value is 6.
Scrapped Difficulties
Beginner
The Beginner difficulty was going to be the easiest difficulty in FE2 and would've been in Chill Mode, however it has since been scrapped. Its maps under its said difficulty would serve as a tutorial for newbies and would have effortless gameplay.
The Beginner intensity value would've been 0 to 0.99.
Crazy++
The Crazy++ difficulty would've served as a difficulty for Crazy+ maps with harder parkour to sit in this difficulty. The maps that could've gone under this difficulty would only accept very minor error.
The Crazy++ intensity value would've been 7 to 7.99.
Crazy+++
The Crazy+++ difficulty would've been a difficulty to account for very hard Crazy+ maps that would be hard enough to skip Crazy++ altogether. The maps would've had crazy hard parkour and no more room for even very minor error.
The Crazy+++ intensity value would've been 8 to 8.99.
Crazy++++
The Crazy++++ difficulty would've served for extremely hard Crazy+ maps that would skip the last two Crazy difficulties and are on the brink of Infinite, the next difficulty that would've accounted for near impossible FE2 maps.
The Crazy++++ intensity value would've been 9 to 9.99.
Infinite
The Infinite difficulty, the highest and hardest difficulty that would've been in Community Maps. It would've contained maps that would be near impossible, and for maps that Crazy+ would be considered an understatement in terms of difficulty.
The Infinite intensity value would've been 10 or higher.
Freaky
The Freaky Difficulty is a joke difficulty made up by ItsTrollMan2017 and revealed by coolzak35, and is supposed to be the next difficulty after Crazy+.
The difficulty was first shown off by coolzak35 on February 6th 2024, in the Crazyblox Games Discord Server. This difficulty is most likely a joke and will not be added to Flood Escape 2. If it does get added, the difficulty would have a pinkish-magenta color similar to TRIA.os' Divine Difficulty.
The difficulty had been teased again on March 22nd 2024. Along with a supposed God Tycoon collab.
The Freaky intensity value would've been 7 to 7.99.
