Items are a core part of 99 Nights in the Forest.
These are usable items that players can consume as food, use as crafting materials, or burn as fuel for the Campfire. There are also tools and weapons, which are used to gather resources and fight Entities.
Tools
Tools are various items that help players collect resources. They are often obtained through Chests or the Pelt Trader.
Sacks are tools that allow players to store items.
The Old Sack can store up to 5 items.

The Giant Sack can store up to 25 items.

Axes are tools that allow players to cut trees and damage entities.
The Old Axe allows players to cut trees and kill entities at the beginning of the game. It takes 13 hits to destroy a tree.

The Good Axe can be found in tier 1 chests, an upgrade to the Old Axe. It takes 5 hits to destroy a tree.

The Ice Axe can be found in ice chests, an upgrade to the Good Axe. It takes 5 hits to destroy a tree. When used to damage an entity, it applies a short chill effect, causing the attacked entity's movement speed to slow.

The Strong Axe is obtainable primarily from higher tier chests (Ruby and Diamond Chest excluded), It one-hits normal trees, and destroys big trees in 35 hits.

The Chainsaw is the highest tier of Axe, having the highest mining rate, and destroying Big trees in ~25 hits. It deals less damage to entities

Food
Foods can be used to replenish a player's hunger or give the player a stat boost
The Carrot replenishes hunger and can be used to cook Stew in a Crock Pot.

The Pumpkin replenishes hunger and can be used to cook Stew in a Crock Pot. However, its often more effective to use Carrots.

The Berries replenish hunger. They do not grow back naturally, but more can be grown through Berry Seeds. Berries can be used to cook stew but only through occasional bugs.

The Apple replenishes hunger and can be found in grocery stores.

The Morsel replenishes hunger and deals damage to the player. When cooked at the campfire, they replenish more hunger and deal no damage. They can also be used to cook stew (but its often more effective to use Carrots).

The Stew can be cooked from carrots, morsels, cakes and steaks. They replenish 45% of a player's hunger.

The Hearty Stew can be cooked from carrots, morsels, cakes and steaks. They replenish 45% of a player's hunger and heal players for 5 health.

The Meat Sandwich replenishes hunger and alien tech energy, can be found in Alien Ships. It is completely safe to eat despite the strange name and appearance.

Seed Packs
Seeds can be used to grow plants and fireflies. They can be found throughout the map and have a specific trader, the Fairy.
Chili Seeds grow Chili throughout the map a day after they are planted.

Light Sources
Light sources help the player explore at night.
The Old Flashlight creates light and stuns The Deer, but must be recharged by standing near the Campfire or contacting Fireflies. It has 50% max capacity.

The Strong Flashlight creates more light than the Old Flashlight and stuns The Deer, but must be recharged by standing near the campfire or contacting Fireflies. It has 100% max capacity.

Weapons
Weapons are used to kill entities. There are two types, melee and ranged.
Melee weapons are weapons with limited range, but do not require ammo.
The Spear has more attack range and damage than Axes.

The Morningstar has the highest damage per hit out of any melee weapon.

The Katana is a reskin of the spear.

The Laser Sword has more attack range and damage than Axes when alien technology is not overheating.

The Ice Sword has deals high damage, on par or potentially stronger than the Morningstar. When used to damage an entity, it applies a short chill effect, causing the attacked entity's movement speed to slow.

Ranged weapons are weapons with long range, but require ammo to function. The Brawler Class cannot use these weapons.
The Revolver is a ranged weapon that requires Revolver Ammo. It has a cylinder size of 6.

The Rifle is a ranged weapon that requires Rifle Ammo. It has a magazine capacity of 1.

The Tactical Shotgun is a ranged weapon that requires Shotgun Ammo. It has a magazine capacity of 4.

The Snowball is a ranged weapon that does not require ammo. Players receive 30 snowballs upon obtainment, and lose the item upon using all the snowballs.

The Frozen Shuriken is a ranged weapon that does not require ammo. Players receive 70 shurikens upon obtainment, and lose the item upon using all of them. When used to damage an entity, it applies a short chill effect, causing the attacked entity's movement speed to slow.

The Kunai is a ranged weapon that does not require ammo. Players receive 120 kunai upon obtainment, and lose the item upon using all the kunai.

The Ray Gun is a quick firing small weapon that takes up Alien Tech charge (around 10% to fire?).

The 'Laser Cannon is a high-range weapon alike to the Ray Gun. It deals a close AOE blast at its impact, it requires half of the users Alien Tech bar to fire, but takes ~80% of the bar when firing.

Armor
Armors are equippable items that reduce damage the player receives.
The Leather Body reduces damage players receive.

The Iron Body reduces damage players receive.

The Thorn Body reduces damage players receive and inflicts damage to entities upon contact.

The Riot Shield reduces damage players receive when held. It can be used in tandem with other armors.

Alien Armor reduces damage player's receive and restores alien tech energy when getting hit by a melee attack.

Fuel
Fuel items can be placed into a Campfire to increase its level.
The Log can be used to fuel the campfire or be ground into wood.

Pelts are items rarely dropped by certain entities. They can be traded with the Pelt Trader
The Bunny Foot can be traded with the Pelt Trader, as well as turned into biofuel or used to craft Bandages.

Healing
Healing items can be used to heal or revive players.
The Bandage heals the player for 50 health. It can also be used to revive players.
