Items are a core part of 99 Nights in the Forest.
These are usable items that players can consume as food, use as crafting materials, or burn as fuel for the Campfire. There are also tools and weapons, which are used to gather resources and fight Entities.
Tools
Tools are various items that help players collect resources. They are often obtained through Chests or the Pelt Trader.
Sacks are tools that allow players to store items.
The Old Sack can store up to 5 items.

The Infernal Sack can store up to 20 items (22 with the Scavenger Class). Raw food will become cooked food when stored.

The Admin Sack can store up to a grand total of 99999 items (100001 with the Scavenger Class). It has an appearance similar to that of a enlarged Giant Sack.

Axes are tools that allow players to cut trees and damage entities.
The Old Axe allows players to cut trees and kill entities at the beginning of the game. It takes 13 hits to destroy a tree.

The Good Axe can be found in tier 1 chests, an upgrade to the Old Axe. It takes 5 hits to destroy a tree.

The Ice Axe can be found in ice chests, an upgrade to the Good Axe. It takes 5 hits to destroy a tree. When used to damage an entity, it applies a short chill effect, causing the attacked entity's movement speed to slow.

The Strong Axe is obtainable primarily from higher tier chests (Ruby and Diamond Chest excluded), It one-hits normal trees, and destroys big trees in 35 hits.

Fishing Rods are used to fish for food and other items.
Found either at the Fishing Hut, through the Pelt Trader (second trade), through Common Chests and Good Chests, or as the Fisherman Class.

Taming Flutes are tools that allow players to Tame specific entities.
The Old Taming Flute can be used to tame animals with 1-3 hearts/faces. Holding it out will also allow you to see how many hearts all nearby tamed animals have above their heads.

Weapons
Weapons are used to kill entities. There are two types, melee and ranged.
Melee weapons are weapons with limited range, but do not require ammo.
The Spear has more attack range and damage than Axes.

The Katana is a reskin of the spear.

The Laser Sword has more attack range and damage than Axes when alien technology is not overheating.

The Ice Sword has deals high damage, on par or potentially stronger than the Morningstar. When used to damage an entity, it applies a short chill effect, causing the attacked entity's movement speed to slow.

The Trident has similar stats to the Spear in the fact that it has the same range and higher damage (the same as the Ice Sword's) but swings slower by 0.1s.

The Poison Spear has similar stats to the Spear in the fact that it has the same range and damage, but whatever is hit with it gets inflicted with a poison effect, which damages them for a small amount every second for 3 seconds.

The Infernal Sword is a melee weapon that applies the burning effect to enemies that are hit by it. It also auto-cooks food on drop.

The Cultist King Mace is a melee weapon that has the highest melee damage per hit out of any melee weapon currently available.

The Obsidiron Hammer is a melee weapon that deals high damage and creates a small explosion around the player after they deal enough damage to enemies to fill a bar. The bar can be filled even further by taking damage with the Obsidiron Body and Obsidiron Boots. The explosion deals ~50-60 damage to nearby enemies. It also has the same swingrate as the Morningstar, being 1s.

The Scythe is similar to the Morningstar since it has high damage with a 1s swingrate. The only difference is that it heals you for each hit you do to an enemy.

Ranged weapons are weapons with long range, but require ammo to function. The Brawler Class cannot use these weapons.
The Revolver is a ranged weapon that requires Revolver Ammo. It has a cylinder size of 6.

The Snowball is a ranged weapon that does not require ammo. Players receive 30 snowballs upon obtainment, and lose the item upon using all the snowballs.

The Frozen Shuriken is a ranged weapon that does not require ammo. Players receive 70 shurikens upon obtainment, and lose the item upon using all of them. When used to damage an entity, it applies a short chill effect, causing the attacked entity's movement speed to slow.

The Ray Gun is a quick firing small weapon that takes up Alien Tech charge (around 10% to fire?).

The 'Laser Cannon is a high-range weapon alike to the Ray Gun. It deals a close AOE blast at its impact, it requires half of the users Alien Tech bar to fire, but takes ~80% of the bar when firing.

The Flamethrower is a ranged weapon that doesn't use ammo to function but uses Fuel Canisters instead. The Flamethrower can make multiple enemies burn alive, which makes it great for crowd control. Enemies that normally drop raw meat will instead drop cooked meat when killed by the Flamethrower.

The Blowpipe is a ranged weapon that poisons enemies that it hits. It has a magazine capacity of 3 and unlimited reserve ammo.

The Admin Gun is an unavailable gun that has the same model as the Ray Gun. It has a very fast fire rate along with no recharge time.

The Crossbow is a ranged weapon that has unlimited reserve ammo and one shot before reloading. Its arrows start to arch downwards after they travel a certain distance.

The Wildfire is a one-time-use throwable that covers a medium-sized area in fire puddles. Enemies that step in the fire puddles will be given the burning effect.

The Infernal Crossbow is a ranged weapon that has unlimited reserve ammo and one shot before reloading. Its arrows start to arch downwards after they travel a certain distance. Its arrows also deal more damage than the normal Crossbow and give enemies the burning effect. It also auto-cooks food on drop.

The Witch Potion is a throwable item that can either inflict pure damage, the poison effect, or the burning effect on an enemy. Throwing it at a teammate will heal them 15hp, including yourself (Witch Class level 2). It has unlimited uses with a 6 second cooldown per throw.

Bouncing Blade can be thrown to an entity similar like a Kunai. But after hitting the first target the projectile will then bounce to the next closest target, only lasting 2 entities.

Air Rifle is one of the Carnival objects used for the Shooting Gallery minigame with infinite ammo. It can also be used to kill entities but deals the lowest damage in the game.

Ammunition is required for ranged weapons to function (excluding the Ray Gun and Laser Cannon).
The Revolver Ammo gives the player ammo to fire the Revolver. Each one gives 6 ammo.

The Poison Armor reduces damage players receive and inflicts poison damage on enemies that attack the wearer.

The Iron Body reduces damage players receive.

The Thorn Body reduces damage players receive and inflicts damage to entities upon contact.

The Riot Shield reduces damage players receive when held. It can be used in tandem with other armors.

Alien Armor reduces damage player's receive and restores alien tech energy when getting hit by a melee attack.

Vampire Cloak reduces damage from entities and fills in a bar when it's nighttime only. If the bar fills all the way on top you'll get instantly healed with a decent amount of health.

The Cultist Staff can be used to collect souls off of dead Cultists to resurrect them as friendly zombies. Resurrecting a Cultist will cost 3 souls, but resurrecting the Cultist King will cost 10 souls.

The Sapling is an item that can be planted in a spot of the player's choice. It'll fully grow into a normal tree after one day in-game. It has a chance to drop from normal trees and a guaranteed drop of 4 from big trees.

The Raw Obsidiron Ore, Raw Obsidiron Ore (Shard), Scalding Obsidiron Ingot, and Obsidiron Ingot are resources that are used to craft various things at the Meteor Anvil. To obtain them, you first must mine an Obsidiron Crystal with an Axe to obtain a Raw Obsidiron Ore, smash it against the ground to obtain a Raw Obsidiron Ore (Shard), dip it in lava to obtain a Scalding Obsidiron Ingot, and finally dip it in water to get an Obsidiron Ingot. The Obsidiron Ingot is the item that's needed for crafting items at the Meteor Anvil.

Healing
Healing items can be used to heal or revive players.
The Bandage heals the player for 50 health. It can also be used to revive players.

The Halloween Candle can be used to Trick-or-Treat at houses. However, after the Halloween Update, due to a bug, it can only be obtained through Cultist Raids and is useless.

The Old Boot is a junk item that has no use, but it can be used as a decoration if you get creative with it.

The Hologram Emitter was an item added during the Alien Invasion 2025 update. When this update came out, it would appear in the forest close to the Campfire with an Alien Corpse. However, the item had a use, which was warning the player if Aliens were coming. Otherwise, it was basically useless. This item was also removed during the Crafting Update, and has never returned since.

The Feather can be exchanged for Fuel Canisters at the Bird Watcher to complete her research (it's now useless because the Bird Watcher has been removed.)
