Overview
The Summer Harvest Event was a seasonal event that was introduced in Update 1.11.0 of Grow a Garden.
It featured a complete overhaul of the Seed Shop with summer-themed plants and introduced a new activity where players can submit summer crops every hour to earn Harvest Points. These points grant various rewards, including past event items such as seeds, gear, and eggs.
Mechanics
The update brought a new event where every hour, players must submit Summer Crops in order to gain Harvest Points.
Afterwards, rewards were awarded based on the number of points garnered by the players. The event lasts for 10 minutes.
If a player hadn't submitted any plants, they wouldn’t get any rewards.
Gold and Rainbow Crop Mutations also affected the points acquired per crop, adding 2 and 3 points respectively.
The Player must have had at least one point over the required number to unlock the next rarity.
Introduced in the Mega Harvest Update, players could earn 1 Summer Coin for every 1,000 points. Points were doubled during the MEGA Harvest event.

Strategies
The currently most effective strategy for the Summer Harvest Event seems to be hoarding Tomatoes. Although they provide few points in comparison to Sugar Apples, they grow rapidly and can easily be obtained. In conjunction with Pack Bees, a player is able to store large amounts of fruits prior to contributing them to the Summer Harvest. Hoarding Tomatoes is achieved by planting a lot of Tomatoes in the same place so it can be collected together easily. Hoarding can be done with any plant depending on purpose.
The player's points in the event will only start going up once they place at least one fruit into the basket, so if another person were to use all their fruits for the event before the player contributes anything, said player won't gain any points for that other person's efforts; it's a good idea to prioritise getting at least a single fruit in the basket the moment the event starts before anything else.
